Summer is on its way!

Proper maintenance to your Air Conditioner is vital to its life. Dirt, Dust and even filter particles collect in the evaporator coils causing improper coolin, freeze up’s (which can cause water to leak in your roof or floor), and higher electric bills. You should have your Air Conditioner cleaned at least once a year and filters should be checked once a month (depending on usage). It will not only keep you cool, but also save you money in the long run.

Before moving your Trailer, remember these few tips to ensure a a safe trip;

Make sure all water lines, sewer and tv are disconnected
Check your tire pressure and lug nuts
Make sure all compartments are closed and locked
Make sure all propane tanks and components are closed and off
Make sure all slides are in and secured
Disconnect shore power cord

Putnam County Sheriffs Underwater Search

The Deputies of the Underwater Search Team needed an AC with Heat so that when they come back after a long dive searching for missing persons they are able to warm up or cool down before going back in. PROTECH RV Repair is Honored that we were chosen to do the work and wish them all the best. Below are pictures of what and how it was accomplished.

RV Healthy Roof Campaign

Clean Roof
1. Remove AC, Maxx Air Covers, Old Lap Seal, Clean Roof with Dicor’s Cleaner Activator
Inspect Roof
1. Inspect the Roof for any Damage or weak points that may need to be addressed
2. Clean the AC Evaporator and Condenser Coils, Clean all Vent Covers
Apply Roof Coating
1. Apply 2 Coats of Dicor Acrylic Roof Coating
2. Re-Install AC and any vents removed
3. Tape all seams, Apply Dicor Self Leveling Sealant

This is a 1996 Class C. Not much had been done to it.

We clean the roof with soap, Crown RV Cleaner and Water.

We then clean it with the Dicor Cleaner Activator.

We roll out one side so it will dry for the second and third coat.

As you can see all vent covers and AC are removed. One side is completed and beginning to dry while we roll out the other side.

This is a complete roof coat and the best part is it comes with a Manufacture Warranty.

This owner came in with Fiberglass damage, while he was here he noticed we were doing another coach and inquired about it. We explained about the campaign we were involved in and decided to add this to the work we were already doing. (better safe than sorry)

Remove Complete Roof
1. Remove all Vents, AC, Plumbing Vents, Trim and Awning if needed
2. Remove all Decking, Inspect the Trusses for Damage
Install a New Roof
1. Install all NEW Decking, Manual Vents, Plumbing Vents, AC Gasket, Re-Install a New Rubber Roof, Seal all Seams , Replace any Damaged Trim, Clean Condenser and Evaporator on the AC

Keeping your RV like New

Keeping your RV looking like New is not such an easy task. Dicor suggests washing your roof at least 4 times a year, Diesel exhaust builds on your rig, black streaks can be very unappealing. Well now we have the solution! PROTECH RV Repair is opening it’s Wash Department.

We use a Hot Pressure Wash and Hot Wax application. While we are there we will also check your roof, seams and vents for proper sealing. There is no “service call charge” for the wash and wax and our prices are the best in the area.

New A&E Awning

This was and is a 19 foot A&E Sunchaser Awning. It originally filled with rain water and bent in the middle with damage to the fabric from the wind. We had worked with Florida Farm Bureau’s Heather and Angela and got the awning approved and on within a week. When we had finished the awning for Mrs. R, she had made the comment that PROTECH RV is now on the TOP of Florida Farm Bureau’s list as this claim was handled in a very professional manner and in such a short time.

This time we installed a Center Support Rafter using a Heavy Duty Hardware Kit. A little more expensive, but well worth it in the end.
